This month in Physical Education our unit is on cooperative activities and fitness.

Student's learn how to cooperate and work together in small and large group activities.

Some examples are through basketball, soccer, and football.

In addition, we are learning fitness components, such as, flexibility, cardiovascular, muscular strength, and muscular endurance in Grades 3 through 5.

Some examples are:

Flexibilty - Stretching and bending

Cardiovascular - Running and biking

Muscular Endurance - Push ups and Squats

Muscular Strength - Weight lifting and aerobic exercise

Activity improves physical health and it also improves cognitive (thinking) health.

Extra credit question: Explain what the word COOPERATIVE means in a full and complete sentence.

I encourage all families to try to exercise, play a game, ride a bike, or take a walk
